Associate Professor Dr. Siti Jamilah is a distinguished Applied Linguist with 32 years of experience in tertiary education, specializing in second language acquisition, English discourse-based grammar, applied linguistics research, and academic mentorship. Throughout her extensive career, she has significantly contributed to the field of Applied Linguistics, shaping the academic and professional growth of undergraduate and postgraduate students. Dr. Siti Jamilah has served as a UUM Senate member, Director of UUM Language Centre, Deputy Dean of Academic and Internationalization Affairs, and Student Development. She has also been an active faculty member, researcher, and mentor, providing expert guidance in language acquisition, pedagogy, and linguistic analysis. She has also played a key role in curriculum development, ensuring that language programs align with contemporary linguistic theories and practical applications. Her research interests encompass applied linguistics, second language acquisition, discourse-based grammar, L2 Writing, pragmatics, language and culture and language testing. She has authored numerous research papers, and journal articles in high-impact, Scopus-indexed publications, particularly in Q1 and Q2 journals. Additionally, she is actively involved in supervising postgraduate students, guiding them in publishing in reputable linguistic journals. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Siti Jamilah has also conducted and completed research based on grants from the Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS), Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysian Examinations Council and University as a principal investigator. At present, she is the Editor-in-Chief for Malaysian Journal of Applied Linguistics (MJoAL).
