She is currently a Senior Lecturer at the School of Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management (STHEM), Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), Kedah, Malaysia. In addition, she also serves as the Chairperson of the Event Management Research Unit (EMRU) and Research Fellow for a Centre of Excellence which is Langkawi International Tourism and Hospitality Research Center (LITH). Dr. Lina Munirah Binti Kamarudin possesses a PhD from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) regarded as one of the reputable Research Universities (RU) in Malaysia where her research focuses on Muslim-friendly tourism, tourist motivation, tourism system and religious tourism. She also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism Management from Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) and managed to graduate with a First Class Degree. What is more interesting, she is an alumnus of Politeknik Merlimau Melaka for the program Diploma of Tourism Management. She has extensive experience in both industry and academia world in several private and public organizations namely: Front Office Assistant at Grand Bluewave Hotel; Event Coordinator at Epic Evolution (M) Sdn. Bhd.; Lecturer at KFC Holding International College (KFCHIC) which is also known as Malaysian College of Hospitality and Management (MCHM); Lecturer at Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS); Lecturer at Politeknik Muadzam Shah; and then continued her career at UUM since August 2019 till present. Her current employment involves knowledge and research in the fields of tourism, hospitality, and event management, which calls for her to constantly adjust and adapt to the shifting of industry needs and preferences. Her passion for psychology and motivation has led her to acquire certification as a Certified First Aider Specialist in Mental Health as well as a Certified Professional Motivator.
