As an academician who has 30 years of teaching experience at high schools and tertiary levels (Diploma, Undergraduates and Postgraduates), in the fields of English Language, Applied Linguistics, and Postgraduate Studies, I am able to share and contribute significantly to the body of knowledge as well as to the community. My vast knowledge, experience and finese have been acknowledged by the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education through my appointments in several national projects. I am one of the consultants for ELHAM (English Language at Malaysian Higher Institutions), a member of Malaysian Public Universities CEFR Alignment Taskforce (2021-2024) as well as a certified CEFR Master Trainer. For two years in a row (2023-2024), I was involved with English projects under Malaysian English Language Training Centre (ELTC). I am also the advisor for the university English Language courses where I have conducted many CEFR-Aligned training sessions for the university language instructors. I am also a certified tanslator where I was engaged with several translation projects at the Malaysian Books Translation Institute. In addition, I was a Bahasa Melayu Language Champion for Oxford University Press Language Champion (2016-2019). My appointments as Visiting Lecturer at Universitas Sumatera Utara and Universitas Air Langgar, Indonesia and as a Senior Research Fellow at Universiti Mara Perlis, Malaysia are also the added values in my academic profession.
As a passionate researcher, I have managed to secure various international, national and university grants. The obtained research grants along with my academic collaborations and networking enable me to be very productive in presenting papers (keynote and invited speakers) as well as in publishing papers and books at both international and national levels. As an enthusiastic scholar, I love to work alongside with my academic colleagues, supervisees and students at various professional platforms.
