Dr Mohamad Zakuan is Senior Lecturer at the School of Languages, Civilisation and Philosophy at Universiti Utara Malaysia. His research interests include translation studies, audiovisual translation, pragmatics, and corpus analysis, encompassing a broad spectrum of language studies and linguistics. His latest works centre on subtitling taboo language, humour translation, audience reception and multimodal analysis.
In addition to the academic role, he serves as an Editorial Board Member of RENTAS: Jurnal Bahasa, Sastera dan Budaya journal. He also presently holds the position of Research Fellow at the Digital Humanities Management Research Unit at the School of Languages, Civilisation and Philosophy, where he contributes his expertise to research endeavours in digital humanities and management.
