Syariza Abdul-Rahman is an associate professor of Operations Research in the School of Quantitative Sciences at the Universiti Utara Malaysia. Her interest includes computational optimization, scheduling, timetabling and heuristics and metaheuristics. She has published her works in European Journal of Operational Research, Annals of Operations Research, Advances in Operations Research, RAIRO Operations Research and many more. She has served as a reviewer for various established journals from Elsevier, Springer and other Scopus journals. She has worked on several projects related to metaheuristics search methodologies for school timetabling, location allocation for flood evacuation planning, vehicle routing for postal deliveries and many more.
