OVERVIEW
Professor Dr. Harlida Abdul Wahab holds an LL.B (Hons) from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), an LL.M in Business Law from Aberystwyth University, United Kingdom, and a Ph.D in Law from IIUM. Her primary area of expertise is labour and industrial relations law, with additional research interests in environmental law and commercial law. To date, she has successfully secured nearly 30 national and international research grants, funded by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia, Erasmus+, UUM internal grants, and various external agencies. Her research predominantly focuses on labour law issues, including discrimination concerning gender and disabilities. Current projects include studies on discrimination policies, workplace regulations, flexible work arrangements, the right to disconnect, the rights of people with disabilities, and social protection for healthcare workers and housewives. In addition to her work in labour law, she is actively involved in environmental research, addressing issues such as solid waste management, water pollution and governance, carbon footprint, and climate change policy. Professor Dr. Harlida has authored and co-authored numerous academic books and book chapters with both local and international publishers. Her most recent publication is a monograph on Malaysia in the International Encyclopedia of Labour Law and Industrial Relations by Wolters Kluwer (2021), alongside other notable works in the fields of labour and environment. She has published over 100 articles in SCOPUS-indexed journals, peer-reviewed journals, and conference proceedings.
