Dr. Mohd Fairuz Jafar is a senior lecturer at School of Education, Universiti Utara Malaysia. He is an alumnus of UUM. Dr Mohd Fairuz was graduated from Universiti Utara Malaysia in 2008. He obtained his first degree in Bachelor of Education (Hons) Teaching of English to Young Learners after four years studying at the Faculty of Cognitive Science and Education (now, School of Education). Two years later, he continued his study in Master of Education (M.Ed) specialization in Educational Psychology at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). His research topic was “The relationship between self-esteem and student’s life satisfaction among adolescent”. He obtained his master degree in 2012. Next, he furthered his study at doctorate level started in mid of 2015 and got his PhD which specialization in Educational Psychology in 2019 from USM. His Phd research topic was “The influence of predicting factors on trainee teacher’s self-efficacy”.
Dr Mohd Fairuz Jafar have started his career in education since August 2008. After completing his first degree, he was posted to a rural area in Pahang. He had a wonderful teaching experience of the indigenous pupils during that time. Then, he transferred to Kedah in 2010 and became a primary school teacher at the district of Baling. In 2013 he joined a teacher education institute namely Malaysian Institute of Teacher Education Sultan Abdul Halim Campus (formerly known as IPSAH). In 2018, he moved to Malaysian Institute of Teacher Education Darulaman Campus (IPGKDA, formerly known as IPDA).
He joined Universiti Utara Malaysia as a senior lecturer in 2020. His research interest are in the area of educational psychology, teacher’s education, adolescent psychology, psychological well-being, deep learning and quantitative research.
