OVERVIEW
Dr. Mohd Faiz Mohd Yaakob (Faiz) is an Associate Professor at the School of Education, Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), specializing in educational management, planning, and policy. His research interests include educational policy and leadership, school culture, teacher competencies, teacher education, bilingual and multilingual education, and educational equity, with particular expertise in Q methodology and educational policy research. At UUM, Faiz has held several academic administrative positions, including Deputy Dean (Academic & International), Deputy Dean (Research & Innovation), Programme Coordinator for the MSc in Educational Management and Principalship, and Coordinator of the Postgraduate Diploma in Education Programme. Faiz is actively involved in academic publishing and editorial work. He currently serves as a Guest Editor for Discover Education (Springer Nature) and has completed professional training through the Springer Nature Editorial Academy in editorial management, peer review, research integrity, plagiarism, and similarity checking. He recently completed a postdoctoral fellowship funded by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia as a Visiting Scholar at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. His research there focused on language policy, assessment readiness, bilingual and multilingual education, and educational equity. This work complements his broader research agenda on educational policy and contributes to strengthening international research collaboration and scholarly publication.
