Dr. Akilah Abdullah is an Associate Professor at Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz School of Accountancy, College of Business, Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM COB). After her graduation in 1990, she joined Universiti Utara Malaysia as a lecturer. In 1992, she pursued her studies at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, USA and conferred with a Master of Accountancy in 1994. Dr. Akilah completed her doctoral degree at Universiti Utara Malaysia in 2012. Dr. Akilah’s primary teaching interest is accounting information systems. Her area of research includes accounting system development, database management systems, financial reporting, individual development using self-talk therapy approach and knowledge externalization and sharing. To date, she has involved in several research projects with various awarding grants (FRGS and University Grant). She also has published several academic works in local journals and articles in refereed/non-refereed conference proceedings. Dr. Akilah has taken part as paper reviewers of The Learning Organization and several International conferences and is currently supervising four doctoral students in the area of accounting information systems.
