OVERVIEW
I am a Lecturer of Economics at the Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) and is attached to the Department of Economics and Agribusiness at the School of Economics, Finance and Banking (SEFB), College of Business, UUM. I obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan USA (1989) and a Master of Arts (International Economics) degree from the University of Essex, United Kingdom (1993). My research interests are in applied economics in the areas of macroeconomics, international economics, monetary economics, and development economics. In many of these research works, I have employed applied econometrics modeling method focusing on time-series econometrics and panel time-series econometrics. I have been involved in research works on economic issues including poverty, social insurance, economic resilience, and foreign direct investment (FDI) funded by grants awarded by UUM, the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE), and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI). Findings from these researches have subsequently been published in ISI-indexed, SCOPUS-indexed and refereed journals at both national and international levels.
