OVERVIEW
Dr. Asmat Nizam Abdul Talib specializes in international business and marketing at the School of International Studies and the Othman Yeop Abdullah Graduate School of Business, Universiti Utara Malaysia. As a principal investigator, he has led seven FRGS research grants and received one international grant from the University of Sydney. Additionally, he is a member of seven nationally awarded FRGS grants. Asmat’s research has been published in journals such as International Business Review, Strategic Marketing Journal, Asia Pacific Journal of Marketing and Logistics, Journal of International Consumer Marketing, and Journal of Islamic Marketing. His research interests predominantly focus on international and strategic marketing, particularly in the realm of export market intelligence and its influence on firms' export decision-making processes. Asmat has also contributed as a consultant for MATRADE, assisting in the development of its Digital Learning module, providing a comprehensive guide to exporting for Malaysian companies. Asmat also served as a Professor in International Business at Kimep University, Kazakhstan, and Tashkent State University, Uzbekistan. He was also awarded the Erasmus+ KA171 exchange program at Middle East Technical University, Turkey. Furthermore, he contributed as a research fellow at the Honda Foundation, Japan, and served as a Faculty Associate at Aston Business School, UK, teaching courses in international marketing and business.
