OVERVIEW
Mohd Zaini Abd Karim is a Professor of Economics at the School of Economics, Finance and Banking, Universiti Utara Malaysia. He received his PhD in Economics from the Sam M. Walton College of Business, University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He has served Universiti Utara Malaysia as the Board of Director, Senate member, Dean of Academic Development, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Director of the Institute for Economic Research. He is also currently the Editorial Board member and past Chief Editot of Journal of business Management and Accounting, Editorial board member of the International Journal of Banking and Finance (IJBF), Journal of Business and Finance, and Editorial Advisory Board of Journal of Emerging Issues in Economics, Finance and Banking (JEIEFB). He has also served SAGE Open as Article Editor. His research interests is in the area of economics in particular economic efficiency and productivity studies, economics of banking and financial markets, and trade and development economics. He has presented academic papers at regional, national, and international seminars/conferences in which he has won several awards for best conference paper. His works has been published in various SSCI journals such as Global Economic Review, The European Journal of Finance, Borsa Istanbul Review, Singapore Economic Review, Current Issues in Tourism, International Journal of Tourism Research, Studies in Higher education, Housing Studies, Journal of Environmental Planning and Management and Journal of Applied Economics. His works have also been published in books volume published by Physica-Verlag, Springer, Praeger, Malaysian Strategic Research Centre and Water Watch Penang & Global Cooperation Institute for Sustainable Cities
