Mohamad Fadli Zolkipli is an Associate Professor at the School of Computing, Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM)since September 2020. He obtained his first degree in Bachelor of Information Technology from UUM in 2001. He then completed his Master of Science (Information Technology) in 2003 also from UUM. He completed his doctorate degree in Computer Science at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in 2012. In 2018, he was approved by Malaysia Board of Technology (MBOT) as a Professional Technologist.
His career in academia started when he joined KUKTEM / Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) in July 2002 as tutor. After two years of tutoring experience, he was appointed as lecturer in August 2004. In November 2012 he was promoted as Senior Lecturer after he completed his PhD. He was promoted as Associate Professor in March 2019. His teaching expertise includes Data Communication and Networking, Switching & Routing, and Network Security.
Having served for more than 10 years as a lecturer, Mohamad Fadli has experienced several academic administrative positions at the Faculty of Computer Systems & Software Engineering such as Head of Program for Computer Systems & Networking (2007-2009), Head of Program for Computer Science (2013), Deputy Dean (Academic & Student Affair) (2014-2019) and as Dean (2019-2020). Outside the university, he involves as Accreditation Panel for Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA)and Malaysia Board of Technology (MBOT). He has also been appointed as external advisory penal for Kolej PSDC (2015-2017), Politeknik Mersing (2019), Kolej Universiti Islam Pahang Sultan Hj Amhad Shah (KUIPSAS) (2018 – 2020), DRB-HICOM University (2017-2025), Albukhari International University (2020 – 2024), Universiti Sains Malaysia (2023 - 2024) and Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (2024-2025).
