Before joining Universiti Utara Malaysia, Dr. Hapini Awang has more than 10 years of experience serving in various education fields, including as a school teacher and an education officer in Pejabat Pendidikan Daerah (PPD). Currently, his area of research is Information Systems (IS), with the main interest in E-Learning, M-Learning, Virtual Learning Environment, ICT in Education, Educational Technology, Instructional Technology, and other related areas. He received his Ph.D. (Information Systems) from Universiti Utara Malaysia in 2019. Among the awards and recognitions that he has received are the Hadiah Latihan Persekutuan (HLP) in 2015 and Anugerah perkhidmatan Cemerlang (APC) in 2012 by Ministry of Education. He has published papers in many reputed journals and proceedings that are indexed by Scopus and others. He is also a member of the Association of Information Systems, Malaysian Chapter (MyAIS), and actively involves with the Pacific Asia Conference of Information Systems (PACIS) since 2017 as a volunteer, presenter, and reviewer. Dr. Hapini Awang is also a reviewer and a member of the editorial board of several other conferences and journals, such as the 6th International Soft Science Conference (ISSC) 2020, Advances in Science, Technology and Engineering Systems Journal, International Educational Research, Special Issue Article Journal and Journal of Educational Research and Indigenous Studies. In addition, he has actively contributed to other research activities such as an Action Research Facilitator in PPD Cameron Highlands, and as an expert panel in a number of research.
