OVERVIEW
Dr Mukhriz is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Law and currently serves as the Head of the UUM Integrity Unit. He brings a practitioner experience to academia, having served as a Deputy Public Prosecutor at the Attorney General’s Chambers of Malaysia (2008–2015). During his tenure, he conducted prosecutions for corruption and general crimes while providing legal counsel to the Royal Malaysia Police and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC). An alumnus of the International Islamic University Malaysia (LL.B. Hons) and the National University of Malaysia (LL.M.), Dr Mukhriz earned his PhD from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom, specialising in criminal justice and counter-terrorism. His scholarly contributions are further bolstered by a Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education Learning and Teaching (UUM). Beyond the classroom, his expertise is recognised both locally and internationally. He had served as a Visiting Fellow at the International Centre for Counter-Terrorism (ICCT) in The Hague and as a member of the Board of Experts for INITIATE.MY. A qualified Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya, he researches criminal justice and law, counterterrorism, violent extremism, human rights, and anti-corruption law. Dr Mukhriz welcomes inquiries from prospective postgraduate researchers dedicated to advancing these critical legal fields.
