Dr Mohamad Zakuan is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Languages, Civilisation and Philosophy at Universiti Utara Malaysia. With a focus on translation studies, audiovisual translation, pragmatics, and corpus analysis, Dr. Zakuan's research interests encompass a broad spectrum within the field of language and communication. His latest work involves subtitling taboo language, humour translation, audience reception and multimodal analysis.
In addition to his academic role, Dr Zakuan serves as an Editorial Board Member of RENTAS: Jurnal Bahasa, Sastera dan Budaya journal. He also presently holds the position of Research Fellow at the Digital Humanities Management Research Unit at the School of Languages, Civilisation and Philosophy, where he contributes his expertise to research endeavours in digital humanities management.
