OVERVIEW
Dr Lukasz Fyderek – political scientist, specialized in the politics of authoritarian states. A native of Poland, currently he holds a position of Visiting Associate Professor in the School of International Studies of Universiti Utara Malaysia. He researches comparatively politics of authoritarian states and countries under political transition, mostly in the Western Asia and North Africa. He undertook numerous field research in countries such as Syria, Iraq, Lebanon and Egypt. He is also a frequent visitor in countries of Central and Eastern Europe, the region of his origin. He is the editor of "Socialization, Participation and Revolution in the Middle East" monograph and an author or co-author of numerous articles, books and media commentaries.
