Gunalan holds a Doctorate in Business Administration (University Sains Malaysia - USM), obtained his MBA from Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), Hons Degree in Economics from University Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and Cert in Hazardous Material Handling (Pudong, China). In addition, he has over 17 years of working experience as Senior Manager in the field of Plant Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management (Warehouse Operations, Logistics Customer Service, Warehouse Inventory Control, Transportation Operations and Procurement). He is also prominent in consultancy job where his expertise had contributed to huge cost savings and productivity improvements in several local and multinational organizations.
Areas of accomplishments (in Multi National Companies);
1. Productivity Improvement (Warehouse Operations): Achieved 21.5% Productivity Improvement at “Virtual Factory” (VF) level.
2. Cycle Time Improvement in Warehouse Operations: Resulted in 40% reduction in cancellation of orders, productivity improvement, and quality improvements. Sustained great result with cycle time logged at around 2.30hrs, beating the 7.5hrs of the respective corporate goal.
3. Derived USD10 million savings (Logistics Department) in a year – Transportation, Packaging, Warehousing, etc
4. Greater Asia Region (GAR) Hazmat Improvement (Hazardous Material) - zero incidences logged in 2006.
5. Warehouse Safety and Ergonomics Improvement: Brought down ergonomics cases by 100%.
