OVERVIEW
I am the Professor of the School of Law, Universiti Utara Malaysia. I started my career at one of the law firm before joining Universiti Utara Malaysia in 1990. I hold a Bachelor of Laws with Honours (IIUM), Master of Comparative Law (IIUM) and Doctor of Philosophy in Law (University of Aberdeen, UK). I have experience in teaching various courses in undergraduate (LL.B) and postgraduate law programmes (LL.M by Research, Master of Commercial Law and Master of Corporate Law M.Sc and MBA). Currently, I have successfully supervised eight Ph.D students. My research interests are in the area of securities and derivatives industry law, business law and ethics, company law, corporate governance and employment law and industrial relation. I have received research fund since 1995 until now from various external organization such as the Ministry of Science and Technology previously known as IRPA grant and Ministry of Education through the FRGS, ERGS, RAGS and NRGS Grant and internal source through research funded by the Universiti Utara Malaysia. To date, I had completed 14 research projects and currently I am committed with another six research projects as the project leader and researcher funded by the Ministry of Education i.e. RAGS, FRGS, TRGS and NRGS. The area of current research projects are corruption law, contract of service of academic staff, private retirement scheme law, trade union and industrial relation law, youth law and governance and election law. I have rendered consultancy services to organizations i.e. research projects, training and advising such as consultation works funded by MAMPU and Bank Rakyat Malaysia Berhad. Further, as a trainer for a consultancy projects with the State of Kedah, MADA and KEDA in the area of Business Law.
