Che Su holds a PhD in Organizational Communication, Universiti Utara Malaysia/University of Memphis, Msc (Journalism and Mass Communication), Iowa State University, USA and Bachelor of Arts in Communication (minor History), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Malaysia. She possesses vast experience with more that 23 years working experience in the field of communication.
She has served Universiti Utara Malaysia as a tutor in 1988 and become a lecturer in 1990. She was promoted as an associate professor in 2000-2010. Currently, she is a professor of communication at College of Arts and Science, University Utara Malaysia. Beside academic responsibilities, she also held several administrative positions as a chairperson for graduate studies, deputy dean (academic), dean, and chair person for communication programme. At the present, she is a deputy dean (research and graduate studies) at Awang Had salleh Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, College of Arts and Science, University Utara Malaysia.
She had provided several training and consultation to Lembaga Kemajuan Wilayah Kedah (KEDA), Lembaga Kemajuan Pulau Pinang (PERDA), Lembaga Kemajuan Wilaya Terengganu Tengah (KETENGAH), She is also an editorial board member of Malaysian Management Journal, International Journal of Knowledge and Change (2007), and Malaysian Journal of Communication and Language. Her scholarly contribution could also be observed in her reviewing manuscripts for the national and international refereed journal and conferences.
Her research area is in organizational communication such as communication satisfaction, communication technology, family communication, and Malaysian Malay communication style. Besides that, Che Su also conducted a few research regarding emotional quotient and academic adjustment. Her written works appeared in refereed journal such as Journal Analisis,, Journal of Intercultural Communication Research, Intercultural Communication Studies, Corporate Communications: an International Journal, and Human Communication
