I am the Associate Professor of the School of Law, Universiti Utara Malaysia. I started my career as a teacher at Maktab Pengajian Islam Kedah in 1999-2004, Islamic Affair Officer at JAKIM, Putrajaya in 2005-2006, Lecturer at Kolej Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Selangor (KUIS) in 2006-2007 before joining Universiti Utara Malaysia in 2008. I hold a Bachelor of Fiqh wa Usul with Honours (University of Malaya), Master of Shariah (UM) and Doctor of Philosophy in Shariah (UM). I have experience in teaching various courses in undergraduate (LL.B) and postgraduate law programmes (Master of Commercial Law and Ethics, Law & CSR, MBA). Currently, I have successfully supervised ten (10) Ph.D students and two (2) master students. My research interests are in the area of Islamic law, Islamic Jurisprudence, Islamic Transaction and Islamic Civilisation. I have received research fund since 2008 until now from external organization such as the Ministry of Higher Education through the FRGS and internal source through research funded by the Universiti Utara Malaysia. I had completed 23 research projects and 5 research projects still on-going. The area of research projects are Fatwa, Hisbah, Zakat, equality under Federal Constitution and youth law and governance. I was a member of the Shariah Technical Committee at Mufti Department, state of Kedah and panel member of Malaysia Qualification Agency (MQA). I have a Syarie lawyer certificate state of Kedah and the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur. I also a member of the Malaysian Syarie Lawyers Association and Association of Malaysia Muslim Lawyers.
