I am a senior lecturer in the School of Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management (STHEM), UUM. I completed my doctoral thesis at the University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia in 2019. My expertise include Cultural Heritage Management and Heritage Studies. My previous doctoral and masters theses investigated intangible and tangible heritage respectively. Among the issues that interest me are Heritage Management in Malaysia; Heritage Interpretation; Heritage and Events; Heritage of the Diaspora; Martial Arts as Heritage and Intangible Cultural Heritage Safeguarding. I am also an active Silat practitioner and member of the Pertubuhan Seni Silat Kuntau Tekpi Malaysia, where I serve as a Jurulatih Kanan or Senior Instructor.
I have also published an academic book entitled 'Performing Silat in Australia: A Cultural Heritage Approach' which is indexed in the Web of Science (WoS). I teach both undergraduate and postgraduate courses such as Heritage Resource Management; Heritage Tourism Management and Sustainable Tourism Business.
