OVERVIEW
I graduated from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in 1995 with Bachelor in Arts (Hons) majoring in Communication. Later I possessed a master’s degree in MSc in Corporate Communication from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) in 1999 and subsequently, MA in Communication Management from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), USA in 2010. In 2016, I obtained my doctoral degree (Ph.D) from Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM). I continue to pursue the Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education of Learning & Teaching (PGDHELT) program offered by UUM in the following year. Prior to joining UUM in 2007 as a tutor, I was the Assistant Manager with the Malaysian Institute of Accountant (MIA) for seven years. I also worked as an Editor with Oxford Fajar (formerly known as Penerbit Fajar Bakti Sdn. Bhd.) for three years as well as the Program Officer, Asian Institute for Development Communication (Aidcom) for one year upon graduating from UKM. Currently I am a Senior Lecturer with the Communication Department, School of Multimedia, Technology and Communication (SMMTC), College of Arts and Sciences, UUM, Sintok. My research interest is in organizational communication specifically crisis communication in the digital age. I have been awarded research grants in related field by the university as well as the Ministry of Education.
