OVERVIEW
I am an Associate Professor of Operational Research at the School of Quantitative Sciences (SQS). I earned my B.Eng degree in Mechanical Engineering from Universiti Malaya, Kuala Lumpur in 1996. Afterwards, I worked as an engineer in the industry for more than 5 years. I am also a Graduate Member of the Board of Engineers, Malaysia (BEM) since 1997. In 2001, I joined UUM as a tutor and obtained my MSc from Universiti Utara Malaysia in 2003 and finally a PhD from the University of Bradford, United Kingdom in 2009. My research interests include decision analysis, operational research, discrete-event simulation, system dynamics modelling, queuing analysis, lean manufacturing, sustainable manufacturing, and knowledge-based systems. My contribution to my research field is evidenced by research grants and publications. I have led and completed two national FRGS grants and several university-level grants in the area of operational research and simulation. I have also received three postgraduate incentive grants to assist my PhD students in completing their studies. I am also involved as a member in other grants including international and external grants. To date, I have authored or co-authored more than 80 publications on decision sciences specializing mainly in simulation, knowledge-based systems, and sustainable manufacturing in national and international journals and conference proceedings/seminars. 57 of the publications are indexed in the Scopus database. I am now supervising three PhD students as main supervisor and one as co-supervisor. I have also successfully supervised three PhD students as main supervisor and 1 D.Mgmt student as co-supervisor.
