OVERVIEW
Norashidah Hashim (PhD) is an Associate Professor at School of Business Management, Universiti Utara Malaysia. Her area of research interest and specialization including entrepreneurship, entrepreneurship development, entrepreneurship education, women entrepreneurship and family business. Currently she is a senior research fellow for Institute for Research and Zakat Innovation (IPIZ). She served as Deputy Director for Training and Consultation Department, Co-operative and Entrepreneurship Development Institute (CEDI) for five years (2011-2016) and as Head of Entrepreneurship Department, Faculty of Management in 2003. Prior to current appointment, she was a trained secondary school teacher for more than ten years. She is not only teaching entrepreneurship courses, but also successfully supervised more than twenty postgraduate students in the fields of entrepreneurship. Her passion is to empower marginalised groups such as single mothers, asnaf zakat recipients’, B40 women and also youth in entrepreneurship development through research, training and consultation. The total amount of these projects worth more than RM1 million. Norashidah has presented in various national and international conferences and published many chapter in books, teaching modules, and articles in international and national reputable refereed journal such as Education and Training, Journal of Entrepreneurship in Emerging Economies, Test Engineering and Management, Management Science Letters, Journal of Business and Entrepreneurship, International Journal of Economic Research, and others. In addition, Norashidah also a Certified Professional Trainer for Malaysian Institute of Management (MIM-CPT) and Certified Trainer for Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF).
