Nor Idayu Mahat serves as the Director at the Research Management Center (RMC) of Universiti Utara Malaysia. Additionally, she holds the position of Senior Lecturer in Mathematics and Statistics at the School of Quantitative Sciences and is a Research Fellow at the Center for Testing, Measurement, and Evaluation (CeTMA) within the same university. Engaged in a dynamic spectrum of activities, she is highly active in teaching, research, consulting, providing training, and community service.
Her primary research interests encompass big data analysis, classification and pattern recognition, statistical computation, and prediction, particularly in addressing challenges related to mixed-variable problems. A scientist who is committed to leveraging analytics for organizational and environmental sustainability, her current research initiatives focus on enhancing statistical computing with Big Data, crafting analytic dashboards and systems, and formulating psychometric profile assessments.
Committed to knowledge dissemination, Nor Idayu Mahat channels her expertise to students and colleagues through collaborative projects, group discussions, and participation in research groups and centers of excellence.
