OVERVIEW
I am a lecturer at Universiti Utara Malaysia. A strong supporter of empowerment in learning. I believe in respecting each of the students as individuals in order to create a positive empowering learning environment. Placing this respect means I value them as a person outside the classroom boundary. This can be demonstrated by understanding different learning needs and style of the students. Thus, I make myself available for the students by holding extra office hours, email and phone communication to help them solve the problems at their own pace. Prompt feedback for students’ question is very crucial to maintain their interest with the subject. I believe that teaching and learning this way will make me more connected to the students. I am excited to teach database system and web development programming for beginner and any information systems security class that I can! I do not mind teaching the same class multiple times, because it gives me the opportunity to change my teaching style and methods to see what really works. I also open and excited to teach things I have never taught before, because it gives me the opportunity to fully appreciate the material from that course. I believe that as a teacher, I always need to try new things in an effort to create my own masterwork. As a teacher and “learning facilitator”, my goal is to inspire my students and guide them to succeed through an enrichment of their classroom experience that will benefit them in their future endeavor.
