Professor Dr. Haji Abdull Sukor Shaari is currently a member of the academic staff at the School of Education and Modern Language (SEML), Universiti Utara Malaysia. I have a vision to become a well-known scholar in the area of Curriculum and Pedagogy and in specific, the body of knowledge on Pedagogy in Teaching Bahasa Melayu. My work philosophy is “Believe in yourself and work with integrity”.
As a member of the academic staff of SEML, I am involved in teaching Curriculum and Pedagogy, Curriculum Studies and Research Methodology at Master level. I also teach Kaedah Mengajar Bahasa Melayu, Teori Pedagogi Kesusasteraan Melayu and Research Methodology for undergraduate students.
I have been involved in more than 32 research projects as a team leader and also as a normal team member.
In publication, I am an author of 4 books, of which 2 books were written independently by myself and published by UUM Press and two other books written together with colleagues in my field. Among these books are " Guru Berkesan : Petua dan Panduan " (2009 ) and " Pedagogi : Dari Sekolah Ke IPT " (2011 ) . Both books are published by UUM Press and received overwhelming response at the International Book Fair 2014 at PWTC, Kuala Lumpur . A further book is "Preparing for MQF Documentation : A Manual " also published by UUM Press and the book "Bahasa Melayu Komunikasi " written with Associate Prof. Dr Nuraini Yusoff and Dr Mohd Isha Awang for which I was the lead author. In terms of chapters in books, I have produced a total of 4 chapters including two chapters in the book Penyelidikan Pendidikan, Published by McGraw Hill (2012 ), and a chapter in the book of Penyelidikan Bahasa Melayu ( 2013) , published by UPSI Press. I also have produced 15 articles in refereed journals and two articles in journals indexed in Scopus.
