Dr Noor Afza Amran is a Professor of Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz School of Accountancy (TISSA), College of Business, Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM COB). Her area of interest is Corporate Governance, Auditing, Fraud, Women Studies, Sustainability and Financial Reporting Quality. She has been granted the research funds from the MOE, University, and IMBRe-UUM for topics related to corporate governance mechanisms, family performance, women involvement in the economy, green accounting and financial reporting quality. She also has secured few case study grants in the area of accounting, risk & auditing and business management.
Dr Noor Afza Amran is a Professor at Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz School of Accountancy (TISSA-UUM), Universiti Utara Malaysia. Currently she is a Director and a Research Fellow at the ASIAN Research Institute for Corporate Governance (ARICG-UUM). She received her degree in Bachelor of Commerce and Management (Accounting) in 1997 and she pursues her Post Graduate Diploma in Commerce and Business Studies in 1998 at Lincoln University, New Zealand. She obtained her Master of Business Administration (Accounting) in year 2000 and Doctor of Philosophy (Corporate Governance) in year 2011 from Universiti Utara Malaysia. Previously, she was the Coordinator for Post Graduate TISSA-UUM. She also holds the position of Manager of Project Management and Rating Units (iPMO/SETARA) for Universiti Utara Malaysia. She has been in service for more than 20 years. Her research interest focuses on corporate governance, auditing, gender diversity, fraud, and sustainability. She secured several competitive research grants from International, Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education, Industry, and Internal Grants. She also has successfully supervised several PhD and Masters candidates.
