Dr.Zairani Zainol is currently a Senior Lecturer at the College of Business, Universiti Utara Malaysia. She obtained her Ph.D(Islamic Banking) from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland in 2007. Prior to that, she graduated with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in 1999 and a Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA (Hons)) in 1992 from the Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM). She also holds a Diploma in Business Studies (1989) from the Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM). She has six years (1992-1998) working experience in Bank Islam (M) Berhad (BIMB). She started her career with BIMB in 1992 as an officer class one and her last post was assistant branch manager before she left the bank in 1998 to join UUM as a tutor.
She is also involved in research, consultancy and academic textbooks writing, funded either by UUM, Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) or other institutions, such as International Shariah Research Academy for Islamic Finance (ISRA) , Open Universiti of Malaysia (OUM) She has written numerous articles in Islamic finance and banking and her works have been published in International journals and proceedings.
In her teaching tasks, she has taught several subjects in the area of finance, banking and Islamic finance and banking at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.She also a panel of Auditor for Malaysian Qualification Assurance ( MQA) in the area of Islamic Banking and Finance
