OVERVIEW
Mohd Khairie Ahmad (Bach. Public Administration Universiti Utara Malaysia, 1997; MA Communication Universiti Sains Malaysia, 1999; Ph.D. University of Queensland, 2011) is a Senior Lecturer in Communication Studies at the Universiti Utara Malaysia. This Penang-born academician has been with Universiti Utara Malaysia and a faculty member in Communication Studies since 1997. He was also appointed as Research Fellow at Advanced Communication Research Unit, UUM. He has teaches courses in Introduction to Communication, Communication Theory, Persuasion, Communication for Social Change, Social Marketing, Managerial Communication, Audit Communication, Communication Research Methodology and Qualitative Research Methods. His research and scholarly efforts include Communication and media for Social Change, Health Communication, Political Communication and Communication Management. Currently, Khairie is working with local and international (mainly from Africa and Middle-East) postgraduate students on their PhD and Master thesis on area including health communication, media and journalism for social change, and communication management. His work on communication for social change which includes research projects on health communication, media practitioners leadership and youth participation have been supported by over RM1 million in federal grant funding.
