OVERVIEW
DR ROHANA ABDUL RAHMAN IS AN ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR AT UUM SCHOOL OF LAW. SHE OBTAINED HER LLB DEGREE FROM INTERNATIONAL ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY MALAYSIA IN 1993, LLM IN BUSINESS LAW FROM UNIVERSITY OF WALES, ABERYSTWYTH UNITED KINGDOM IN 1997 AND PHD IN LAW (GOVERNMENT PROCUREMENT LAW) FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA IN 2013. SHE IS A QUALIFIED ADVOCATE AND SOLICITOR (NON-PRACTICING). SHE STARTED HER CAREER AS A PRACTISING LAWYER IN 1995 AT MESSRS RAMLI AMAR JIT & TAN (ADVOCATES AND SOLICITORS) IN ALOR SETAR KEDAH. IN 1997 SHE JOINED UNIVERSITI UTARA MALAYSIA AS A LAW LECTURER AT THE SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT. SUBSEQUENTLY SHE WAS APPOINTED AS SENIOR LECTURER AT THE FACULTY OF LAW AND MANAGEMENT AT THE SAME UNIVERSITY. DR ROHANA HAS HELD VARIOUS ADMINISTRATIVE POSTS AT THE UNIVERSITY INCLUDING COORDINATOR FOR LLB PROGRAMME, HEAD DEPARTMENT OF LAW, DEPUTY DIRECTOR FOR DISTANCE LEARNING PROGRAMME AND DIRECTOR OF ASIAN RESEARCH INSTITUTE FOR CORRUPTION (ARIC). CURRENTLY SHE IS THE DEAN OF SCHOOL OF LAW UUM. DR ROHANA TEACHES COMPANY LAW AND PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE COURSES AT THE UNDERGRADUATE LEVEL AND HAS SUPERVISED POSTGRADUATE MASTERS AND PHD STUDENTS AT THE UNIVERSITY. HER AREA OF SUPERVISION INCLUDES GOVERNMENT PROCUREMENT LAW, ANTI CORRUPTION LAW, INSOLVENCY LAW, ALTERNATIVE DISPUTE RESOLUTION AND COMMERCIAL LAW.
