Dr. Abdul Razak Bin Abd Manaf is currently Associate Prof at the School of Applied Psychology, Social Work and Policy (SAPSP) Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM). He was first appointed as a tutor at UUM in 1995 and became a full-time lecturer in 1998. Before joining UUM, Dr Abdul Razak worked as a counselor and Acting Vice Principal of Asrama Kasih Yayasan Basmi Kemiskinan (Poverty Eradication Foundation) Negeri Selangor at Serendah Selangor. He holds degrees in Human Sciences (Psychology) - (International Islamic University Malaysia), Master of Social Work (MSW) (Denver University Colorado USA), and a Ph.D. in Social Work from The University of Western Australia. His research specialization is on children, youth and families. His research interests center on social work, marriage/family resiliency, youth potential and children well-being as well as on persons with disabilities.
An expert in the field of Social Work, he has authored and co-authored a couple of books and teaching modules, conducted trainings and presented many papers at national and international conferences. Furthermore, he has completed a few consultation projects for few government agencies. He also involves in many community talks and workshops especially on issues of children, youth, marital well being and family relationships.
