OVERVIEW
Harlida Abdul Wahab is an Associate Professor at School of Law, College of Law, Government and International Studies, UUM. She obtained a bachelor degree, LL.B (Hons), from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), LL.M (Business Law) from Aberystwyth University, United Kingdom, and Ph.D (Law) from IIUM. Her major area is labour and industrial relations law. Her other areas of interest are environmental law and commercial law. To date, she has secured nearly 30 national and international research grants funded by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia, Erasmus+, UUM grants and other external agencies. Her projects are mostly related to labour issues and employment discrimination that involves gender and disabilities. Her current research projects are on the discrimination policy, work policy, disabilities legal framework and social protection for healthcare workers and housewives. She also involves in environmental projects such as solid waste issue, water pollution and governance, carbon footprint as well as climate change policy. She has authored academic books and book chapters with local and international publishers. Her latest publication is a monograph of Malaysia in International Encyclopaedia for Labour Law and Industrial Relations by Wolters Kluwer (2021). Other books that she authored and co-authored includes Undang-Undang Dan Tadbir Urus Sumber Manusia (2016), Hak Asasi Pekerja Menurut Perspektif Islam Dan Undang-Undang (2015) and Pengurusan Sungai Mengikut Undang-undang (2016). Among her book chapters are on child labour (Nova Science Publisher, New York), persons with disabilities (Springer), migrant workers (Turkey publisher), social protection, safety and health (UMP Press), as well as other environment and employment issues (UUM Press and UKM Press). She also has more than 100 articles in SCOPUS journals, indexed journals and proceedings.
