OVERVIEW
Roslan ABDUL-HAKIM is a Professor of Economics at the Othman Yeop Abdullah Graduate School of Business, Universiti Utara Malaysia. He obtained his doctorate (PhD in Economics) in 2001 from University of Wales, Bangor, United Kingdom under the supervision of Professor Dr. Shanti P. Chakravarty. Before joining Universiti Utara Malaysia in 1994, he was a lecturer of Economics at Sunway College, Petaling Jaya (1990-1991) and also at the Faculty of Development Science, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (1991-1994). At Universiti Utara Malaysia, he was the Dean of the Faculty of Economics from 2003 to 2004. His research interests are focused on development issues ranging from poverty, income distribution, microfinance, social capital, and quality of life. He has presented his papers in various international conferences and his articles has appeared in national and international journals.
